Hunan Provincial People's Hospital (the First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan Normal University) is the only third-class first-class general hospital directly under the government of Hunan Province, and it is the clinical medical college of Hunan Normal University. There are Hunan Institute of Geriatrics, Hunan Institute of Emergency Medicine, Hunan Normal University Institute of Clinical Translational Medicine and Hunan Normal University Hospital Refinement Institute. It is the national Post-Doctoral Research Center and the national drug clinical experimental institution, founded the Journal of Practical Shock, and is the affiliated unit of Hunan Key Laboratory of Severe Metabolomics. It is the vice chairman unit of Popular Science Branch of Chinese Medical Association, the vice chairman unit of Pediatrician Branch of Chinese Medical Association, the affiliated unit of Hunan Rehabilitation Medical Association and Hunan Medical Plastic Surgery Association, and the chairman unit of hepatobiliary professional committee, emergency professional committee, interventional medical committee, digestive professional committee, general practice professional committee and popular science professional committee of Hunan Medical Association. The campus covers an area of nearly 300 mu and has 4,000 open beds. It has a century-old headquarters Tianxinge campus, Mawangdui campus located in a thousand-year-old blessed land, Yuelu Mountain campus under construction in Meixi Lake, and Xingsha campus signed with Changsha County Government in 2017, forming a development pattern of one hospital with four districts.
