ClimaPRO+ Chiller Plant Control System With Active Optimization Management
ClimaPRO+ System Manager represents the state-of-the-art platform for chiller plant management and control. The system actively optimizes the entire chiller plant by managing and adjusting each component directly involved in production and distribution of heating and cooling energies, therefore involving chillers and heat pumps, pumping groups as well as the source-side devices such as cooling towers.

Main functions:

ClimaPRO+ measures all the operating variables in real-time from the field, for each individual device and each of the main system branchs, by using serial communication lines as well as dedicated analogue signals. The acquired data is then compared with the design data of each single unit at any different working conditions, thus implementing control strategies based on dynamic algorithms which take into account the real operating conditions. On the basis of these values, an advanced diagnostic module can assess the level of efficiency for each individual unit, translating data into easy-to-read information in order to simplify and optimize the maintenance activities. The “Chart Builder” software module displays the trends of the main operating variables. The “Reporting” module sends reports to selected users, including data and the system’s status of the main devices as well as performing calculations of the energy indexes for each single unit and for the entire chiller plant. The accessibility to ClimaPRO+ System Manager is ensured by an integrated web server that makes it visible from any computer equipped with a web browser, either locally or remotely.
                                  

Control and optimization:

ClimaPRO + guarantees the control and optimization of energy-intensive plant segments, such as the pumping circuits and the heat rejection section (source circuit).

● Increase of water flow control accuracy, thanks to the direct acquisition of water system pressures based on the energy demand on the user-side (VPF systems);
● Greater unit operation stability in case of low load conditions, by direct control of by-pass valves (VPF systems);
● Improved systems calibration by eliminating the «Low Delta T Syndrome», derived from poor water flow control across the primary-to-secondary decoupling lines.

Thanks to a redesigned interface aimed at improving user experience, ClimaPRO+ ensures the immediate visualization of the effective units’ status, in order to prevent system failures or efficiency losses. This function is key for enabling downtime analysis and supporting early service activities.

The system is able to intuitively displays live conditions of each unit, by detecting those deviating from design operating conditions.

● ClimaPRO+ shows the graphs of the main operating variables, making them available on the display and easily accessible by the user.

● The inspection bar on the bottom provides real-time units sequences and analyzes each of them.

Management and monitoring:

Through simple, easy-to-read colour graphics, ClimaPRO+ automatically displays the effective performance of key components in each individual HVAC unit, including those in stand-by.

Measurement and permformances verification:

ClimaPRO+ calculates the performance levels of the single units in real time and verifies their efficiency compared to the design data.

● Detection of the compressor status and circuit’s operating pressure.

● Real-time measurement of unit efficiency
● Using a circular bar system, it is possible to identify the working conditions in real time of the units, detecting whether the operation of the unit is compliant ("green") or not ("red") with the design conditions.
● Load percentage for each unit section
● The load percentage of each unit section provide the possibility of the units operating simultaneously, reducing energy rejected into the atmosphere and increasing the system’s efficiency.
                          

Reporting:
ClimaPRO+ reporting allows the user to receive a monthly report containing operating data and analysis. The reports can be either downloaded to your laptop or stored in the software’s memory. The information available at the plant level is: Total cooling/heating energy produced by the plant room, Plant room total electrical consumption, Plant room average monthly efficiency, Total energy cost for running the plant room, Plant room total chiller run time.
